She was married to William H. Ward, an army soldier from Baltimore, Maryland stationed at Fort Jefferson, Florida before 1869. William deserted Fort Jefferson on July 30, 1873.
She then married Jay A. Allen, also stationed at Fort Jefferson, in Monroe county on February 5, 1875. They were found in the 1880 census of Boston, MA.
On June 10, 1882 she was married to Jay Augustus Hawkins in Boston, MA.

MRS REBECCA A HAWKINS — Mrs Rebecca A Hawkins 78 of 137 N E Eight-first street died yesterday in her residence She leaves two daurghters, Mrs J F Triplett of Miami end Mrs. Lottie Hayes of Los Angeles, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p m tomorrow in the W H Comb Funeral Home. Burial will be in Miami Memorial Park.
