Frank C. Petreikis, 70, of Springfield died at 10:24 a.m. Monday at St. John's Hospital.

Born on Sept. 3, 1915, in Springfield, Mr. Petreikis was the son of the late Anthony and Barbara Krausauskis Petreikis.

He married Julia Bartashies in 1936. He was also preceded in death by a brother Joseph Petreikis in 1983. He was a member of St. Aloysius Church.

Mr. Petreikis was employed for 20 years in the Illinois Department of Mines and Minerals and at the time of his retirement in 1981 he was superintendent of the Mines Rescue Station.

Surviving are his wife, Julia; one brother, Anthony of Chicago; five sisters, Mrs. Helen Hilofsky, Mrs. Josephine Pavletich, Mrs. Anna Urban, Mrs Mary Schuck and Mrs. Dorothy Capranica, all of Springfield; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts and uncles.

Services will be at St. Aloysius Church, with the Rev. Joseph Molloy officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
