Mary Lou (Pearson) Bailey, 88, of Lathrop, MO (formerly of Polo and Gower), passed away unexpectedly on July 9, 2021, at Liberty Hospital with her children at her side.

Mary Lou was born June 29, 1933, in Gower, MO and grew up on a farm south of Gower. She was the eldest of three daughters of Lynn and Martha (Mallen) Pearson. Mary Lou attended Grayson Elementary School and graduated from Gower High School.

Mary Lou was married to Grover C. Pack, Jr. in 1951 and to this union two children were born, Richard Lynn and Susan Diane. In 1982 she was united in marriage to Morris D. Bailey and moved to Polo.

Along with her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Morris D. Bailey; son-in-law, Philip Tolle; and grandson, Vance Bailey.

Mary Lou served in the funeral business for 38 years. Beginning in 1983, she became co-owner of Bailey Funeral Homes and worked alongside Morris and Mark Bailey at their locations in Lathrop, Polo and Holt. For the past 17 years she served the Lathrop community at Park Lawn Lathrop Chapel and most recently Stith Funeral Home. She never really retired, working just two weeks prior to her passing.

Mary Lou was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Lathrop and formerly an active member of the First Baptist Church of Gower.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Tolle (Gary Everett); son, Richard Pack (Tracy); step daughter, Beth Bailey; step son, Mark Bailey; grandchildren, Emily Bleier (Joe), Allison Doran (Jared), Andrea Pack, Meagan Andrade (Carlos) and Audrey Osborn (Joel); great grandchildren, Sam, Ben, Lilly, Alex, Abigail, Bethany, Christian, Adeline, Jack, Colin, Isaac and Emma. She also leaves her sisters, Ann Gilleland (Jon) and Jane Williams (Estil); two nieces, three nephews, and their families; as well as cousins, other family members and friends.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the First Christian Church of Lathrop in care of the funeral home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, on Thursday, July 15, at the First Christian Church of Lathrop, 400 Center Street, Lathrop, MO 64465.
