Alonzo E. Charlton, 76, of Parkersburg died Friday December 27, 2002 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Parkersburg a son of the late Alonzo P. Charlton and Mary Alice Spires. He was a United States Marine Veteran having served in WW II. He was a member of Am Vets Post 34 and DAV Post.
He is survived by two sons Brian Charlton of Brunswick, OH and Terry Charlton of Parkersburg, daughter Caron Murphy of Parkersburg, three stepchildren Mickey and Marshall Cornell, and Melissa Vaughan, nine grandchildren, three step grandchildren, sister Virginia Harr, brother Alvin Charlton, and a special friend Bill Moyers.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Charlie and George and two sisters Edna and Ester.
There will be a Graveside Service held in the Spring. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg has been entrusted with arrangements.
