Orlow "Bud or Shorty" Holbrook, 65, Panora, son of Peter C.
and Helen (Tiege) Holbrook, was bom March 21,1940 in Walthill,
NE. He died October 20, 2005 at the Guthrie County Hospital,
Guthrie Center, IA.
He grew up in Nebraska and attended school in Walthill and
Macy. February 20,1958 he married Norma Davison. To this union
three children were born, Kim, Rick and Brenda. Bud owned and
operated Holbrook Construction for over 35 years until his health
began to fail. He enjoyed his grandchildren, his construction company and going to Prairie Meadows.
He is survived by his wife Norma; children Kim (Pat) Finnegan,
Rick (Trish) Holbrook and Brenda Holbrook; grandchildren Megan
and Shane Finnegan and Richard Holbrook; step-father Bert
Kuefner of Redfield; brothers Frank (Sue) of Houghton, LA, Pete
(Teresa) of N. Sioux City, SD, Doug (Shirley) of S. Sioux City,
NE, Dale of Des Moines and Dean of Perry; sisters Alice Judevine
of Carter Lake, IA, Karen (Don) Crom of Omaha, NE, Elaine Boyll
of Terre Haute, IN, Kaye (Jack) Huffman of Decatur, NE, Gayle
(Dave) Wickwire of Bellevue, NE, Linda Conova of Omaha, NE,
and Kelly (Joe) Larson of Redfield; and sister-in-law Melinda
Holbrook of Stuart. He was preceded in death by his parents,
brother Dwight, and sisters Mary Edna, Terri Roxanne and Mary
Jane.
Funeral services were October 24 at Beidelman-Twigg Funeral Home in Panora. Burial was in West Cemetery, Panora.
