Leroy was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Trujillo, mother, Ursulita Trujillo, brothers, Tony and Billy Trujillo, brothers-in-law, Robert Gutiérrez and Fernando Roybal and several other family members.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Elsa Trujillo, son, Gary Trujillo (Erica), grandchildren, Destinee, Daphnee, Arianna, Gary Jr. and Ayden Trujillo, sisters, Sally Roybal of El Rancho, Pita Martínez (Ernest) of La Puebla, MaryAnn García (Manuel) of Nambé and Ida Gutiérrez of Santa Fé and several nephews, nieces and other family members.
Leroy was born in Grants and raised in El Rancho, New Mexico.
After high school he enlisted in the United States Army.
After serving several tours overseas he returned home to study drafting at Northern New Mexico Vocational School. While studying he developed a true passion for drafting which led him into a successful career, ultimately retiring from Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Leroy was an amazing man that enjoyed all that life had to offer. Leroy was kindhearted and had a place in his heart for every person that crossed his path. Leroy was an amazing son, brother, father, grandfather and friend that was always willing to help others.
Leroy loved fishing, building projects and being a handyman. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.
Leroy will always be remembered for the immense love for his family, and the friendships he shared with so many.
A memorial service is currently pending at DeVargas Funeral Home in Española, New Mexico.
