Benjamin F. Royer, who made his home with his son Ward Royer in Limestone Township, Union County, died almost immediately after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock.
He was born in West Buffalo Township, February 20, 1871, the son of the late George and Caroline Royer, and spent his entire life in Union County. He was a blacksmith by trade, having retired some years ago, and since the death of his wife had resided with his son. Mr. Royer, well-known to most of the residents in and around Mifflinburg, was a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church of that place. He was affiliated with the Modern Woodmen of America, Mifflinburg Camp No. 6966, and was a charter member of the Mifflinburg Moose. Lodge.
Surviving are three sons, two sisters and a brother. There are also four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren living.
Funeral services will be held from the L. W. Strunk & Son funeral home in Mifflinburg Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. J. R. Stoudt, pastor of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church will officiate. Interment will be made in the East Side cemetery at Mifflinburg.
