Effie was born October 9, 1930, in Spur, Texas to Oscar and Willie Crafton. Effie was one of seven children.
At a young age, Effie married the love of her life, Homer Belton Allison of Dickens, Texas. They were married for 65 years until he passed away in 2010. She dedicated her life to being an Army wife and mother, she traveled to Munich, Germany, Grand Isle, Louisiana, Ft. Benning, Georgia and Ft. Rucker, Alabama before retiring and returning to Lubbock. She was a loving wife and mother to her four children and taught them the ways of the Lord. She loved football and cheered on Texas Tech, Auburn University and the Dallas Cowboys, just to name a few.
Effie was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three siblings, Billy Joe Crafton, Vernon Dale Crafton, Marvin Vaughn Crafton.
Effie is survived by children, Clinton Dale Allison, Randy Melton Allison, Rodney Vernon Allison, and Debra Ann Garland; 10 grandchildren, Scott Turco, Jaime Braden, Allyson Calhoun, Carol Cochran, Dustin Allison, Christopher Allison, Laura West, Karen Allison, Hunter Allison and Tanner Allison; 14 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. Effie is also survived by sisters Betty Kilpatrick, Lubbock, Texas; Vera Newton, Waxahachie, Texas; Patsy Young, Nashville, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews, family members and friends.
A visitation for Effie will be held Friday, July 9, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 5740 West 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79407.
