Alvin Franklin Cole, 77, Lebanon, formerly of Jefferson City, died Dec. 16, 2002, at Christian Health Care South, Lebanon.
He was born Oct. 3, 1925, a son of Frank C. and Dora Wolf Cole. He was married to Ethel Parker Graham, who died Aug. 31, 2000.
He was an educator, school administrator, caseworker, county supervisor and regional director for the Missouri Division of Family Services. He served as deputy director of field operations. In the early 1980s, he lived in Jefferson City and was director of the commodity food program in the Family Services state office.
He was a active in the Disciples of Christ (Christian) Churches and served as a deacon and elder in Branson, Buffalo and Lebanon. He was active in the Masonic Fraternity and was a member of Forsyth Lodge 453. He served as worshipful master of Robert Burns Lodge 496, Gainesville. He was a member of Riddick Lodge 361, Buffalo and Laclede Lodge 83, Lebanon. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Abou Ben Adhem Shrine, York Rite Bodies and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: four sons, Daniel F. Cole, St. Louis, David A. Cole, Dallas, Michael Graham, Parkers Prairie, Minn., and Sam. L. Graham, Ankeny, Iowa; one daughter, Neville Sue Rapp, St. Louis; two brothers, Ocie Cole, Springfield, and Bob Cole, Clinton; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lebanon First Christian Church. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Ozark Memorial Park, Branson.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo, with a Masonic service at 8 p.m.
