JOE'S OBITUARY
Joe Kent Graves, Sr., 65, of Amarillo passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 in Amarillo.

Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Smith, pastor, officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Joe was born March 1, 1956 in Pampa to Clyde Durham and Cleo Joyce Spencer. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1975. Joe loved to play football in high school and was a very talented athlete. He worked at Phillips Refinery in Borger for over 20 years as an operator, pump mechanic, and heavy equipment operator. He later was a truck driver for several companies in Pampa. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and watching old westerns. Joe was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Marvin Oliver and Roxy Spencer; and his wife, Nannie Mae Graves.

Survivors include his daughter, Torry Graves Castle and husband Deron of Amarillo; 2 sons, Joe Graves, Jr. and Dejuan Phillips both of Amarillo; 5 brothers, Clyde Dale Durham of Oklahoma City, OK, Jerry T. Norman and wife Vickey of Borger, Quentin Broadnax of Fort Worth, Ronald Hunter of Denver, and Virgil Hunter and wife Jackie of Denver; 7 sisters, Kaylo Harrison of Dallas, Janice Pitts and Evelyn O'Neal both of Oklahoma City, OK, Regina "Reggie" Smith of Dallas, Kennye Spencer of Pampa, Beverly Scott and husband Ted of Pampa, and Wanda Coyle of Amarillo; 4 grandchildren, Tyshea Graves, Tiannah Graves, Tanieceya Graves, and Davion Ashley; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
