Robert Mixon Rites Slated Saturday Funeral services for Robert Earl Mixori, 59. a resident of Alsea for the past two and a half years who died Wednesday at a local hospital following a long illness, will be held In the McHenry Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Rev Millard Scherich of First Unit ed Presbyterian Church offic iating. The son of James F. and Mary Ellen Bratcher Mixon, he was born on Jan. 17, 1906, in Chicago. He moved with his parents to Bradenton. Fla. For nine years, following World War I Mixon served in the Army Air Corps, after which he moved to San Diego, where he made his home for'ovei 20 years. He married Grace M Mattinson in San Diego on July 17, 1945. Mr. Mixon was a tech nician at the Pacific missile range at Point Mugu. Cal. for many years. He lived in Ox nard, for 10 years prior to mov Ing to Alsea following his retirement. He was a member of the Corvallis Elks Lodge Surviving are his wife, one son Robert E currently stationed in Viet Nam with the U. S. Army; one brother. Hoyt of Tampa. Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Clark and Mrs. Irene Weatherington of Bradenton, Fla. and step mother Mrs. James F. Mixon of Palmetto. Fla. Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery

ROBERT E. MIXON BRADENTON (Special) Robert Earl Mixon, 58, native of Manatee County, of Alsea, Ore., died Wednesday in Corvallis, Ore. Born in Manatee County, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Mixon of Palmetto. He attended local schools and was a U.S. Army pilot and instructor, later serving at the U.S. Army missile field at Oxnard, Calif. Upon retiring from the Army, he operated a hunting and fishing lodge In Alsea, Ore. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Grace Mixon, Alsea, Ore.; a son, Robert Gene Mixon, U.S. Army, Viet Nam ; a brother, J. H. Mixon, Tampa; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Wetherington and Mrs. Mary Clark, of Bradenton, and his stepmother, Mrs. Sally Mixon, Palmetto.
