Graveside Services for Mr. James "Jimmy" Hardy Duke, 72, of Eros, LA, will be held at 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Antioch Memorial Cemetery in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Russell Rhodes officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Mr. Jimmy was born May 14, 1949 and passed away July 3, 2021. He was a tree servicer for 20 years and then become a handyman for another 20 years.

After retirement, he enjoyed helping others, especially those in need. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling to the mountains. Jimmy was an animal lover and was known as "The Cat Man of Duke Lane". Above all, Jimmy loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and it would always put a smile on his face when he would see them.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Duke; mother, Janie Aday; brother, Sammy L. Duke; father-in-law, Billy H. Marks; mother-in-law, Betty Redding Marks; and brother-in-law, James Jim Rabb.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Paula Duke; daughter, Kathryn Annette Rice Duke; grandchildren, James Paul Duke, Mark Allen Rice, D.J. Duke, and Rob Duke; great grandchildren, AnnaGrace Cook, Ayden Rice, Tallon Rice, and Braylee Rice; three sisters, Lillie Rabb, Betty Mitchell, and Joyce Broom (Gene); two brothers, Stephen Duke (Rachel) and David Duke (Cathy); sisters-in-law, Kathy Berry and Barbara Marks; brothers-in-law, Billy H. Marks, II, and Junior Berry; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; and two special friends, Royce Rice and Douglas Valentine.

Pallbearers will be Mark Rice, Jesse Duke, D.J. Duke, David Duke, Stephen Duke, and Royce Rice. Honorary Pallbearers will be Junior Berry and Douglas Valentine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mulhearn Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
