Iva Jean Welborn passed away after a long illness at her daughter's home in Terrell, TX on July 3rd, 2021.

Jean, as she was known to most, was born in Elkhart, TX on March 4, 1932 to Claud Leroy Douthit and Jennie Wolf Douthit. She had two sisters and a half brother; Madeline Fincher, Geraldine Curry and C.L Douthit.

Jean married Billy Martin Welborn in Hope, Arkansas on February 28, 1953. They had two children; Homer F. Welborn of Edgewood, TX and Annette Valentine of Terrell, TX.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings and son-in-law, Tommy R. Valentine. She is survived by her son and daughter, grandchildren Tommy R. Valentine, Jr. and Emily Jean Valentine both of Terrell. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mickey Vineyard of Red Boiling Springs, TN, brother-in-law, Wayne Curry of Elkhart, TX and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Jan Barton of Tyler, TX, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday July 8, 2021 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Oakland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 10:30 am Thursday 30 minutes prior to service.
