DERICKSON, Russell G., 84, of Tucson, died April 24, 2003. Born September 2, 1918 in Powell County, KY. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a B-26 Marauder Pilot, and received two Distinguished Flying Crosses. During his civilian life he was a Commercial Pilot for 34 years with TWA Airlines.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ulrike Derickson; children, Russell G. Derickson, Jr. of Denver, CO, Richard E. Derickson of Montvale, NJ, Cathleen M. Derickson of CT, Lee S. Derickson of La Jolla, CA, and Matthew J. Derickson of Tucson; four grandchildren.
Memorial service will be on Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at 1:00 p.m., Evergreen Mortuary. His ashes will be scattered by the U.S. Navy in the Atlantic Ocean, which he crossed numerous times as a pilot. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Southern Arizona Chapter, 5132 E. Pima St., Tucson, AZ 85712, in memory of Russell G. Derickson.
