Burt, Wellington R "Toby" 3/13/1948 - 8/20/2020 Ann Arbor, MI

Wellington R Burt II, "Toby", passed away peacefully in his home on August 20th, 2020 after a two and a half year battle with cancer.

Toby was born on March 13, 1948 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Wellington "Duke" and Phoebe Rowe Burt.

He attended Pioneer High School where he won a team state title in golf in 1965. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1970 with a degree in Accounting and Marketing. Toby spent four years working in San Francisco before moving home to Ann Arbor to work in and eventually buy the family business, Burt Forest Products. He enjoyed educating his customers about the various uses of plywood and lumber.

Toby loved Michigan football and basketball, hosting friends for dinner and football parties, weekends at the lake 'turtle hunting', golf, and traveling. He was able to travel extensively throughout his life and considered Royal County Down in Newcastle, Northern Ireland and Barton Hills Country Club his favorite golf courses.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy Bradley Burt, daughter, Kristin Gibson Burt, "grand-dog" Louis, and extended family. Judy and Kristin would like to thank Dr. and Mrs. C. Peter Fischer for their friendship, support, and medical guidance over the last few years.

A private burial will be held in Ann Arbor.
