Following her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside service will be held on Thursday July 8, 2021 at 11:00AM at St. Mary's Cemetery, Pontiac, IL with Fr. David Sabel officiating. Mary was born on July 2, 1943 in Odell, Il a daughter of John and Florence (Wegerer) Metroz. She married William E. "Spanky" Spaniol on July 6, 1963 in Odell, IL. He preceded her in death. Survivors include: 2 daughters: Kris Wertz and Amy Spaniol both of Pontiac, IL and one son: William Spaniol II of Pontiac, IL; three grandchildren: Stephanie Wertz, Emily Wertz and Gavin Spaniol; two great grandchildren: Nevaeh Vogt and Angelene Wertz and one on the way; two brothers: Rusty and Jim Metroz and one sister: JoAnn Dalton. Mary was preceded in death by one daughter: Kelly Spaniol , one daughter in infancy, one son in law: Randy Wertz, three brothers and five sisters.
Mary was a waitress and special caregiver to many. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Church.
