David Allen Lloyd, age 80, of North Canton passed away at Aultman Compassionate Care Center on June 26, 2021 after a period of declining health. He was born in Alliance, OH on December 24, 1940 to the late, Kathryn and Russell Lloyd. David was also preceded in death by his brother Jerry Lloyd. He grew up in the Canton South area and enjoyed recounting stories of his youth and hunting with his best friend.
David was a generous, hard-working, and caring individual who led by example. He worked for Local 33 Sheet Metal Workers while also maintaining rental properties. In retirement, he enjoyed working on his tree farm in Carrollton. David had a lifelong love of golf and formed many lasting friendships on the links and playing Pinochle. David was a loving husband and proud father. He was always available for his children to lend advice, coach, and cheer them on. David had a fun and kind spirit and was always looking for ways to put a smile on the faces of those around him. "Poppy" was always excited to visit with his grandchildren and support them in their activities.
David is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Sharon; his children, Julianne Lloyd, Jennifer (David) Weisburn and Jonathan (Laura Miller) Lloyd; grandchildren, Nicholas Gobora and Jane and Henry Weisburn; sister, Donna Martinelli and brother-in-law, Denis (Terry) Hostetler and several nieces and nephews.
As requested by David, a private memorial service will be held later this week and final burial of his cremains will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
