Ms. Flinchum was born to Arnold Franklin and Linnie Houck Bumgarner.
Ms. Flinchum is survived by her daughter, Paula H. James and husband, Stephen; her sister, Bobbie Collins and husband, Harold of Wilkes County.
She graduated from Wilkes Central High School.
Funeral services will be held at Goshen Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
