Joseph Henderson Sissom was born Abt 1846 in Cannon County, Tennessee, the son of Jesse and Kathrine (Parker) Sissom.
On October 15, 1870 he was united in marriage to Louannie Jane Ford in Cannon County, Tennessee. To this union three children were born.

Henderson Crowell Sissom b. 5-19-1877 d. 4-5-1918

Joseph fell from a corn crib and died as a result of the fall on April 3, 1877. His children, William Thomas would have been 5-6 years of age, James Isaiah 2 years old, and Henderson 1 month old at the time of their father's death.
