Gary D. Egerdahl

Gary Egerdahl, 74, of The Villages, FL, passed away at home on June 22, 2021, after a battle with cancer.

Gary was born in Duluth, MN, on November 29, 1945. He graduated from Proctor Senior High in Proctor, MN, and received his degree from the University of MN-Duluth.

Gary was married to Jackie Trudell; they were together for 22 years.

Gary worked as a railroad engineer for the DM&IR Railway for 30 years. He was a standout high school athlete earning a school-record 20 letters. After college, Gary played football in Canada and Orlando. He retired in Florida and rediscovered his love of golf.

Gary touched the lives of others with his generosity and sense of humor. His motto was "make at least one person smile every day to make their day better."

Survivors include his wife Jackie; brother Dick Pesonen; son Adam (Jill); granddaughters Edith & Agnes; mother of his children Chris Westlake.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd & Marcia; brother Terry; son Erik.

There will be a private ceremony in Duluth, MN, at a later date
