Alvie Byrns Brown age 91 of Russellville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at his residence. Alvie was born in Logan County, Kentucky on October 19, 1929 to the late William McKinley and Onie Mae (Marshall) Brown. He is a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Retired Diesel Mechanic with the Kentucky Department of Transportation, and a Korean Army Veteran. Alvie enjoyed playing his guitar and other instruments with his friends and singing in the church choir. He farmed and loved nature. Mostly, he loved God, his country and his family. Alvie is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Haden Brown and two sisters Alma Head and Wilma Reid. Survived by his:



Loving wife of 67 years Lucie Brown, daughter Vicky Gaines (Randy) of Russellville, son Michael Brown (Lori) of Auburn, a sister Helen Rogers of Russellville 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.



Funeral services for Alvie Brown will be conducted Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 2:30 P.M. in the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Bro. Gene Bracken officiating and burial to follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will begin Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until funeral time at 2:30 P.M.
