Judy was born April 24, 1941 in Stamford, Texas. She is the daughter of the late Joe Melvin and Pauline LaNell Rivers Carlton. She married Don Haynes July 1, 1961 in Tuxedo. He preceded her in death November 23, 2019. Don and Judy lived in various towns but Stamford was always considered home. Judy attended Texas Tech University. She received her Bachelor's Degree as a Therapon Belief Therapist from The Therapon Theological Seminary. She later received her Masters of Divinity from Southwestern University in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She volunteered as a prison chaplain; she opened her home for discipleship, mentoring many people. Judy loved the Lord and loved sharing Jesus' love with everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her grandson Jacob Haynes.
She is lovingly survived by Sons: Danny and Stephanie Haynes of Abilene, and Bryan Haynes of Dallas. Grandchildren: Patrick Tuley of Richmond, Texas, Ashly Tuley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Madison Haynes of Dallas, and Lauren Messina of Abilene. Sisters: Sarah Thornbury and husband Jim of Lubbock, Kate Embrey and husband Don of Fort Worth, many nieces and nephews.
