*Sarah Linn was my 2nd great aunt

Sarah LINN was born in Missouri [probably Stone County or Barry County] and died on December 14, 1889 in Winthrop, Little River County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Patrick Henry Linn (1822 to 1864-66) and Elizabeth GALLOWAY (1823-1872).

Her siblings were:

James (1842-aft 1890), Charles 'Charley' (1843-1925), Robert (1847-1892), Martha (1850-1882), Mary Jane (1855-1935), Sigel F. (1862-aft 1882), and Elizabeth 'Mollie' Linn (1865 to 1899-1900)

Sarah, her parents and siblings appeared on the following census records:

1860 - Flat Creek, Stone Co., Missouri
1870 - Clay, Greene Co., Missouri

She married Lindsey P.C. Montgomery (1853-1933) on 27 April 1876 in Cooke County, Texas (as found in the 'Texas Marriage Collection, 1814-1909 and 1966-2002').

Sarah and Lindsey had four children:

Ione Elizabeth (1877-1966), Mary Francis (1879-1966), Thomas Hugh (1884-1964) and Lindsey Allen Montgomery (1886-1964).

Sarah, Lindsey, Ione and Mary appeared on the 1880 census in Precinct 3, Cooke County, Texas. They were living with the Mace Miller family, but we do not know the relationship to the Montgomery or Linn families. Also living with Sarah and Lindsey was Sarah's youngest brother, 18-year old Sigel Linn (1862-aft 1882) as both of their parents were deceased by 1880.

We have been told that Sarah died in childbirth with her last son, Lindsey, yet according to her headstone, Sarah died on December 14, 1889 and Lindsey was born on March 30, 1886 (per his WWII draft card and the California Death Index, although his WWI draft card indicates born in 1885). Regardless of the year he was born, all the records indicate his birth in March (March 30th) so Sarah could not have died IN childbirth unless it was childbirth related to an unknown child that died.

**I am descended from Sarah's brother, Robert Linn

Sarah is definitely buried in this cemetery as one of the people who took a picture of her headstone confirmed her burial here. There is one other person who took a picture of her headstone as well.

Dwayne Neumann took the picture of the closeup of Sarah's headstone and gave me permission to add it to Sarah's page.
