Mar 13, 1928 - Jun 25, 2021
Winford Elton Bright, age 93 of Auburn, Alabama, passed away Thursday evening, June 24, 2021, in his sleep, after an extended illness.
Among all who knew him, Winford was recognized not only for his quick wit and dry humor, but also as a man of God, with integrity and great strength of character: independent, kind, hard-working, unfailingly honest, generous and forgiving, devoted to his family.
Apart from his family life in Alabama, perhaps Winford's greatest pleasure was touring the North American continent in a motor home. He especially loved the western United States, Canadian Rockies and Alaska. He was always accompanied by his beloved wife Myrvelene, and frequently by other family members as well.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Albertville Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow at Union Congregational Methodist Church at Double Bridges. Visitation will be on the day of the funeral, from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at Albertville Memorial Chapel.
Winford is survived by his adored wife of 73 years, Myrvelene; daughter, Ginnie Staton; son, Larry Bright; brother, Truman Bright; grandsons, Anthony (Tony) Staton and Chris Staton; great-granddaughter, Courtney Staton; and great-grandson Silas Staton.
