Born January 20, 1939, in Alvarado, Johnson County, Texas, he was a son of the late Robert Jonathan York and Myrle Ludie Lee York.
He attended high school in Alvarado. Jimmie held many occupations during his life - he was a barber, a machinist, and owned several businesses. He also served as County Commissioner PCT 3 in the early 80's.
He was an Air Force veteran. Jimmie enjoyed reading, gardening, deer hunting, fishing, and music.
Jimmie was preceded in death by not only his parents, but also his sister, Alice Christine York Albritton.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Ann Ellis York, one son; one daughter; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; three brothers; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
