Joseph and Elizabeth Martin first lived on a farm just south of Conestogo, Ontario. About 1848, they moved to a farm 1 mile/1.6 km south of Floradale, Ontario.
Joseph and Elizabeth's known children were:

- Jacob (1838-1905)
- Anna (1842-1872)
- David (1842-1843)
- Peter (1845-1916)
