Carlton Leon Myers, 86, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.
Born February 17, 1935 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Margaret Beck Myers and Webster Kenneth Myers.
He was educated in the Rowan County schools and graduated from Catawba College where he played basketball. Mr. Myers served in the US Army Reserve.
He owned and operated Myers Brothers Gin for 65 years before retiring.
Mr. Myers was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and also attended Bethel Lutheran Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Gordon Myers.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Phyllis Murdock Myers; children, Kenneth Myers and significant other, Angie Steele of Salisbury and Karen Coggins and husband Don of Salisbury; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Coggins of Salisbury.
A Graveside Service will be conducted 11 AM Friday- (June 25) at Rowan Memorial Park with the Rev. Carroll Robinson, officiating. The family will speak to friends following the service.
