Obituary for Janet Inez Pitts
Janet Neblett Pitts, Born August 12, 1924 in Honey Grove, Texas. She passed into the presence of God on July 9th, 2015. Preceded in death by her Parents: Richard Harrell Neblett and Naomi Ruth Sheffield Neblett of Dallas. Her brothers Dick Neblett of Orange California, Don Neblett of Dallas and John Neblett of Dallas and sister Nancy Sue Simmons of Bonham, TX.

She is survived by her children: son Lloyd Ray Pitts, Jr., his wife Kari and children; Melissa, Jordan and Baylee of Garland, TX, daughter Janet (Jan) Susan Garrett, her husband Jim and children James and Emily of Falls Church, Virginia, Kathleen Ryan her husband Andy and their son Dylan of Dallas, son Brandon Charles Pitts his wife Linda and children Brett, Reed and Clark of McKinney, TX and son John Tracy Pitts and Partner Vance Fields of Dallas, TX.

Janet's life began in Honey Grove, the family then moved to Dallas in 1927, living in the Munger area of Dallas where she and her family were charter members of Munger Methodist Church, until finally settling on Worth Street where she attended Lipscomb Elementary, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1941. After graduation she attended business school in Fort Worth. She then battled Tuberculosis, spending 2 years in the Woodlawn Sanatorium. She and her family lost the home they rented during WWII and lived for a time in the La Reunion Project in Dallas. She then became one of the first female tellers at Republic Bank of Dallas. She experienced firsthand, the growth of the city.

She married in 1947 ultimately settling in Richardson, TX in 1956 where she raised her family and attended First United Methodist until the end of her life. She worked for the Richardson Independent School District in Administration after her children were all in High School. She loved music and regularly attended both Dallas and Richardson Symphony concerts. Janet loved her family; each of her children always knew they were loved unceasingly and unconditionally. She and her family would like to express their appreciation to caring staffs of Appletree Court Assisted Living Center and The Gardens for their care during the last few years of her life. Especially grateful to the people at Hospice Plus who made her final days peaceful.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 5-7PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 3:00 PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243
