Born in Bellingham, he came to Spokane as an infant. He was a North Central High School graduate.
Mr. Schultz was a purchasing agent for many years, working first for Bearing & Rim Supply Co. and then for Skaggs Automotive, retiring there in the late 1970s.
He was a member and past president of the Washington State Purchasing Agents Association and a member of Spokane Moose Lodge 161.
Survivors include his wife, Lola M. Schultz, at the home; two sons, Dick Schultz of Spokane and Gary Schultz of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; two stepdaughters, Jeanine Harris of Spokane and Marilyn Magrew of Polson, Montana; one stepson, Don Riesau of Eatonville, Washington; two brothers, Harry Schulz of Spokane and Ernie Schulz of Portland; one sister, Lydia Schulz of Spokane; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
