William Frank "Bill" Smith, age 70, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 18, 2021 at 10am in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Barry Thornberry and Brother Joe Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Scott Barnes, William Bush, Jim Gray, David Gunn, David Hazelwood and Rodney Toothman serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 4-7pm and again on Friday from 9am until the hour of service at 10am.
Mr. Smith was born January 27, 1951 in Springfield to the late Frank Sory and Lula Mae Goldsmith Smith. He worked in Communications and was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. He loved his family very much and bargain hunting to help others.
In addition to his parents Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Smith. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ford Smith; son, Will Smith of Springfield; daughter, Brittney Smith of Ashland City; and sister, Elizabeth Barnes of Lafayette, TN.
