Charles A. Anderson
Charles A. Anderson, 68 years of age, one of the best known residents of Greylock, died at 1:15 o'clock this morning at his home after an illness of 11 weeks from complications.
He was born at Redfield, N.Y. During the Civil war he enlisted in the 14th New York cavalry and served for three years, receiving an honorable discharge at the end of his term of enlistment. He came to Greylock to live about 29 years ago and for many years conducted a large farm. For the past five years he and his son conducted a newsroom in Greylock. He was a charter member of St. Jean Baptiste society and an attendant of the French mission church in Greylock. He was regarded as a substantial and upright citizen and was respected by all who knew him.
He leaves his wife, four sons, William F. of Gilbertsville, Nelson of Pittsfield, Charles K. and Francis of this city, and eight daughters Mrs. Louis Pidgeon of Clinton, Mrs. Hattie Lanoue of Pittsfield, Mrs. E. Savage, Mrs. Lily Bouchard, Mrs. Dora Therrien and Misses Georgianna, Eva and Laura Anderson, all of this city.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from Holy Family church in Greylock and burial will be in Southview cemetery.
