Our hearts were broken then shattered when we lost our mother and brother days before Christmas one day apart from each other due to Covid-19 complications. We now will lay her to rest with all family and friends who attend to help us celebrate her in memory. We will smile, laugh, cry and enjoy hearing about Charlotte's amazing, walk through her life as she was an incredible extra ordinary Paiute women, daughter, wife, auntie, cousin, sister, teacher, leader of her people, artist, singer, friend and most of all the best mother and grandmother "muah" that god could of have created as we are so thankful that she became apart of all the lives she came into and crossed paths with. More will be shared and spoken how she approached life with unconditional love and courage.
We had her for 82 years where and which she was cherished and adored everyday. She had many friends from all walks of life.
Charlotte dedicated her life to raising her children then she dedicated her time to her tribe and community as she was elected to serve on local tribal housing boards of commissioners and Owens valley board of trustees where she became chairman of them where she served 19 plus years on OVBT OVCDC bringing them to a big business serving many tribes throughout California's TANF serving the native people and tribal communities. Charlotte loved keeping her tribal traditions and culture alive while making Paiute baskets where over many years 40 plus she became a master teacher. Charlotte loved working with willows where she found her best spot in life making baby cradleboards and anything else that pertained to Paiute culture and traditions. Her legacy will be carried on with her baskets as she learned from her mother Lily, all her children and grandchildren know how to create the beautiful baskets she made. Charlotte will be missed greatly but were happy for her to be with the love of her life together again her husband Nick and the rest of her family on the other side whom she missed immensely.
