Joe grew up in Hudson with his six brothers and sisters. Drafted into the Army in 1944, he served in several WWII battles and was awarded a Bronze star for his bravery. After coming home, he transferred to Air National Guard at Buckley Air Force Base. In September 1951, he married Wanda Lee Jefferies. They built a loving life in Brighton and were blessed with a son and a daughter. Joe became a Regional Manager for Department of Housing Urban Development and his hard work earned him many awards. Joe was an amazing and prolific guitar player. He had his own band and also shared his gift with others by teaching guitar. He always brought out his guitar for family holidays to entertain the family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and helped take care of his grandchildren when they were young. Survivors included: son Michael Gallegos, daughter Debbie (Mike) Brown, grandchildren, Mandie (Tim) McBride, Tracie (Jason) Gallegos, Mystie (Chris) Barlett, Jazmin Brown, Jadyn Brown, and Jarett Brown; and eight great grandchildren; precedied by siblings Marshall, Paul, Johnny and Victoria.
