Mr. Swan, who died Saturday, was born in Kendrick Idaho, and came to Spokane in 1942 from Pinehurst, Idaho, where he worked in logging. He served with the Army during World War II and then in 1946 was a carpenter in home construction and commercial construction for various companies here. He was with Sutherland & Sons Construction Co. for a number of years before retiring in 1974.
He was a 48-year member of First Church of the Nazarene and a member of the Carpenters Union Local #98.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Alice "Jimmie" Swan, at the home, and numerous nieces and nephews.
