Selma L. Andersen, age 89, of Treynor, Iowa passed away at her home on April 28, 2021.
Selma was born June 19, 1931 in McClelland, Iowa to the late Fritz and Marie (Diers) Sudmann. She graduated from Treynor High School in 1948. Selma married John I. Andersen on September 7, 1949 in Treynor. They were blessed with four children, Reid, Linn, Neal and Tina. Selma worked at Treynor State Bank for many years retiring in 2008. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Treynor.
In addition to her parents, Selma was preceded in death by her husband, John Andersen in 2002 and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Sudmann.
Selma is survived by her children, Reid (Diana) Andersen of Council Bluffs, Linn (William) Saxton of Treynor, Neal (Tracy) Andersen of Council Bluffs, Tina (Randy) Athay of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Herb Sudmann of Treynor, Freddie (Connie) Sudmann of McClelland, Iowa; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family, Monday, 5-8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Graveside service and burial, Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Treynor. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Treynor Fire & Rescue Department.
