Calista was the daughter of Nathaniel and Hannah A. Gardner Wilcox.

Calista married David C. Glasgow and they later divorced. They had at least thirteen children: Mary J. abt 1863, Nathaniel B. 1865, William P. 1866, Hattie J. abt 1868, Mary E. 1869, Lois Amy 1872, Zeva V. 1873, True M. 1876, Brick 1878, Bertha 1881, Hannah A. 1883, Ernest L. 1886 and Mark S. 1888.

Final Rites for Story County Pioneer
Many relatives and old neighbors and friends gathered at the Methodist Church of Maxwell Tuesday afternoon to attend the final rites for Mrs. Clista Glasgow, 85, Nevada and Story county pioneer and the last of the children of one of the first families to settle in Nevada in the early '50s.
The services were in charge of Rev. W. M. Scheuermann, with the sermon by Rev. Charles Pickford of Nevada, assisted by Rev. J. Ivan LaFavre of Loring. Interment was in Woodland Cemetery at Iowa Center.
The following story of the life of the deceased was read at the funeral:
Clista Angeline, daughter of Nathaniel and Hannah Wilcox was born July 7th, 1846, at Monmouth, Ill., and departed this life Sunday, March 12th, 1933 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clayton Dunahoo, in Maxwell, at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 5 days.
She came to Nevada at the age of nine years and has spent the greater part of her life in Story County. She was united in marriage to David C. Glasgow, January 1, 1861. To this union 12 children were born nine of whom survive her. They are: Mary E. Dunahoo, Truey M. Dunahoo, Bertha A. Hall, Hannah A. Moore and Earnest L., all of Maxwell; Nathaniel B. of Kelseyville, Calif., William T. of Cambridge; Zeva L. Doggett of Cambridge and Mark S. of Marshalltown.
Three of her children preceded her in death, Hattie who died in infancy; Lois A., Ray and Brick. In addition to the children who mourn her departure are 41 grand children and 35 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Mrs. Glasgow was one of the pioneer spirits who bravely faced the rigors and hardships of pioneer life. Lives like hers aided in building into frontier communities some things of sturdy quality and character value. We owe a debt of gratitude to her and others who "followed in their train."
Early in life she was converted to the Christian faith and was united in membership to the Evangelical Church. Her efforts and energies were spent in building a Christian atmosphere in her home. She though dead, speaks to us of her sincere faith and personal loyalty to her Savior through those whom she leaves to carry on in His name. Her friendship with Christ, her personal Savior was one of the delightful experiences of her life, and remained one of her abiding joys.
