Joseph Talmadge Johnson, 91, of Roxboro, died Monday, June 14, 2021. Joe was the sixth child born to the late John W. and Mary Elizabeth (Lizzy) Johnson of Roxboro.

Joe was married to the late Mary E. Dickerson on May 16, 1955.

He lived in Person County most of his life except for time spent in the military. He served two years in the United States Army in Germany, and was in the National Guard seven years. Joe retired from Collins & Aikman after working over 40 years. He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2021 at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Dennis McDonald. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 9-10 a.m. Friday at Brooks & White Chapel prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be members the Baptist Men of Providence.

Joe had been a member of Providence Baptist Church most of his adult life and was continually active in the numerous church programs.
