RON SHULTZ Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend Ron Shultz passed away July 10, 2017. He fought cancer for the past 3 years. Ronnie was born April 3, 1941, in St. Joseph, MO to Walter Lee and Mary Helen (Dumitrov) Shultz. Both parents preceded him in death. Ronnie moved to Bonner Springs in 1947 and graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1959. He and Mary Ann (Richardson) Bates were married in 1960 and had 4 daughters. They divorced and he married Joanne (Peuker) in 1971 and had 1 son. He was employed by General Motors for 32 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Tri County Rod and Gun Club and Mill Creek Rifle Club. He served as a Kansas Hunter Safety Instructor. He was an avid hunter and shot rifle competition. He loved working with wood and built numerous pieces of furniture and kitchen cabinets. He loved photography and carried a camera with him to all 50 states and several European countries. He is survived by his wife, Joanne, ex-wife, Mary Ann, 4 daughters, Patricia (Gage), Ronna (Cardale), Staci, Lesli (Kevin), son Derek (Dawn), 19 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren. He's also survived by sisters Karen, Mary (Pat), Clella (David) and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Ron's life will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Lake of the Forest Clubhouse in Bonner Springs, KS.
