Bruce Emanuel Anderson

Vancouver, WA — Bruce Emanuel Anderson was born December 16, 1954 in Fort Benton, Montana and left us on September 9, 2017. He is survived by his wife Lynnette; sons, Jacob Emanuel Anderson (son Jack) and Galen Bruce Anderson; sister Alice Anderson Honrud, brother Jack (Terri) Anderson; best buddy in the whole wide world, Don Honrud; stepsons Kelly Axtman and Kayle (Caitlyn) Axtman and granddaughter Raelynn Axtman, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was the third child born to Frank and Cecelia Anderson. He attended Fort Benton schools graduating in 1973. After working various jobs, he settled back in Fort Benton with his wife Christine (Nunnally) and began his lifelong career in the grain business. In the mid-1980s, he transferred to Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. He and Christine were later divorced. He married Polly Zimmerman and they had two sons. In 1987, they moved to Clarkston, Washington. His work later took him to Portland Oregon, but for him home was Vancouver, Washington. He and Polly later divorced. Bruce and lucky wife number three, Lynnette, were married in Vegas by Elvis on September 23, 2003.

Since his retirement early that same year, the two of them enjoyed travelling to Mexico, spending time on the Lewis River and at their cabin in Montana. Even though his eyesight had deteriorated and some of the things he loved had become difficult, he still loved fishing the rivers and working in the yard and garden. However, Bruce enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. If he wasn't reading a good book, talking about and looking for old cars on Craigslist or listening to his favorite music, he was having coffee with friends, enjoying happy hour on the patio with the neighbors or grazing at Costco. Bruce always had a good story and enjoyed an intelligent conversation or debate.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank; mother, Cecelia and brother, Frank Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Walnut Grove Church - Hart Hall in Vancouver, WA. Casual attire required. (No suits allowed!) Memorial contributions may be made to your local Food Bank.
