Francis Ridout Ward, solicitor and notable Victorian convert to Roman Catholicism (1851). Listed in the Catholic Who's Who, published by Burns and Oates, London. Francis married Eliza Were Clarke, on 15 JAN 1844. The couple had five children. Eliza was born in 1812 and died 29 APR 1889. Francis is the brother of the Reverend Richard Ward, MA, Oriel College, Oxford, formerly vicar of St Saviour's, Leeds. Richard converted at the same time (1851).
