The daughter of Robert Thomas Ratterree & Nancy E. Aughtman, she was married three times, first to Guy H. Buchanan on September 16, 1900 in Fulton County, Georgia and they had four children together: May L. (b-1904), Grace Thelma (b-1905), Carl William (b-1908) and a stillborn child in 1910. She was divorced after 1910 and married second to J.W.D. Taylor on June 26, 1915 in Fulton County, Georgia. After his death, Lillie was married a third time to John Clyde Little on August 18, 1920 in Fulton County, Georgia and they had a son John William (b-1924). She worked as a seamstress, operated a boarding house and as a machinist in a men's clothing factory.
