GARRICK W. CRITTENDEN - Catoosa, OK – Celebration of Life services for Garrick Wayne Crittenden will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Woodcrest Freewill Baptist Church, Catoosa, OK. Garrick Crittenden was born on May 12th, 1964 in Claremore, OK, the firstborn son of Gerry and Anna (Peters) Crittenden. Garrick was a member of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians. He attended Catoosa Public Schools, graduating in May 1982. He married the love of his life, Billye Deann Cagle on July 26th, 1991 in Tulsa, OK. Their union was blessed with three children and almost 30 years of happiness. Garrick was a carpenter by trade for over 30 years when he made a life changing decision to go back to school. He enrolled in college and for the next five years continued to work full time and attend classes until he earned his Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, from ITT Tech in Tulsa, OK on April 10, 2015. After graduating, he put down his hammer and began a successful career as a drafter designer in the oil and gas industry, designing huge oil and petroleum storage tanks. This equally challenged and satisfied him as he worked through each project to see them come to fruition as designed.
Whenever he wasn't working, Garrick enjoyed spending his free time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was always up for an adventure, whether it be on vacation with his family or a day trip to check out places new and interesting that he and Billye had heard about or they would often take their grandbabies to do something that they were all sure to enjoy.
He took pleasure in watching football, cheering on his beloved OU Sooners, coaching his oldest son's youth football and baseball teams; he always looked forward to playing a round of golf with his son, brothers and nephews or going fishing with his youngest brother, Jerrold. He was all about taking care of and being with his family. Garrick was honest and hardworking, always putting his family's needs above his own. Although quiet in nature, he had a great sense of humor and a warm, cheerful smile for a host of many friends whom he and Billye considered family.
The Lord called Garrick home from his labors on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 in Tulsa, OK. Garrick was 57 years old. He will be greatly missed for all the love and care he has shown his family and friends these many years. Garrick is preceded in death by his Mother, Father, sister Alicia, brother Jerrold, his grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Those left to celebrate his memory include his loving wife Billye, of the home. His adoring children, Gage Crittenden and Crystal Pethrick of Broken Arrow, OK, Benny Crittenden of Tulsa, OK and Elizabeth Crittenden and Clinton Harms of Owasso, OK. Garrick's legacy lives on in his grandchildren, Presley and Gracyn Strength of the home, Gabriel Crittenden of Broken Arrow, OK and the much-anticipated arrival of a new grandbaby in January 2022. Garrick didn't believe that you had to be blood related to be family, he dearly loved Khristian Whisenhunt of Tulsa, OK and Lacey Holland of Reno, NV as daughters as well as precious grandchildren Ayden and Makayla Holland of Reno, NV. Siblings, Granville Crittenden of Coweta, OK, Gary and Jana Crittenden of Hesston, KS, Jennifer Seiler of Tulsa, OK, Vaniece Crittenden of Claremore, OK and Heather Crittenden of Tulsa, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and loved ones.
