Raymond T. Prather, age 79, of Owen County, passed away at his home, Sunday, June 13, 2021.
He was born on September 8, 1941 in Owenton to the late Justice and Carrie Wainscott Prather. He was proceeded in death by his siblings, Herbert, Estell, June, Greenio, Curtis, Danny, Louise, Arnetta. Raymond worked for Monty Craigmyle for 11 years. He was a member of the Greenup Fork Baptist Church. He enjoyed deer hunting and watching old westerns. Raymond's favorite thing was to be with family and grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 50 years, Sara Prather; his children, Ricky (Cathy) Prather, Bobby (Denise) Prather, Raymond 'Scotty' (Shurann) Prather; his siblings, Paul Prather, Betty Prather, Jean Davis; his 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren as well as a host of extended friends and family.
McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends and family at the Seminary Street location on Wednesday, June 6, 2021 from 4PM to 8PM. A graveside will be held Thursday, June 7, 2021 at 11AM at the Owenton Cemetery.
