Dorthey Faye Baker, 77, departed this earthly life on June 13, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was born July 23, 1943, in Banner to the late parents Sam Baker and Jimmie Lorene Bagwell Baker.

Dorthey was an active member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church until her health declined. She provided for her family by working at Brookwood Furniture until her retirement. Dorthey enjoyed sight- seeing, traveling, puzzle books, HGTV, talking to her friends, and visiting with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Jimmie Baker, sister Jean Dailey, and brother Carl Baker.

She is survived by her husband, who she married on June 26, 1981, Durrell Baker, of Bruce; daughter Alice McCormick, of Bruce; son William "Bill" (Judy) Adams, of Brandon; sisters: Ruby (Bennie)Thompson, of Bruce and Melba (Dwayne) Busby, of Oxford; grandchildren: Deidre Adams, DeBrooke Haire, and Aidan Adams; great grandchildren: Kenzie Haire, Braidyn Johnson, Linley Snider, and Weston McCormick.

Visitation will be Monday, June 14, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Darrell Logan and Bro. Craig McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Bruce Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carlton Baker, Danny Baker, Murry Baker, Randy Baker, Billy Ray James, and Matthew McCormick. Honorary pallbearers will be Aidan Adams, Mark Baker, Braidyn Johnson, Weston McCormick and Kenny Neal.
