Linda Woods, of Fort Payne, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 in Riverview Medical Center. She was born February 25, 1944 in Iuka, Mississippi to the late Lester and Gertrude Barnes. After attending Tishomingo High School, she graduated from the University of Alabama.
Linda enjoyed a career in real estate and was active in all aspects of the real estate market. She received the first license as a certified real estate appraiser. After receiving the first real estate degree awarded from Northeast Community College, she later taught the same courses at the college to upcoming realtors. Linda was a member of DeKalb Association of Realtors and was instrumental in developing a relationship between the Realtors and the DeKalb Foster Children Association. She was named Realtor of the Year several times.
Active in her community, she was a member of the Rotary Club and a former board member of the Fort Payne Zoning Board. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid golfer. Linda was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Payne.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Van Horn and Dr. Pat McFadden officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
