Rita J Fluellen of Houston, TX passed away on Wednesday, June 9th 2021. Rita was born to John James and Elizabeth James on May 16th, 1925 in Houston, TX. She graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1943. She married Reilly Fluellen in 1948 and they lived together in Houston, TX for 69 years. She is survived by her son Mark Fluellen and wife Cyndie, her grandson Shannon Reilly Fluellen and wife Kristen, and great grandson Felix Reilly Fluellen. She is also survived by her nephews Robert James, Fred James, Walter James, and Steve James, and nieces Shirley James and Cameron Harper. She will also be missed by her lifelong best friend, Betty Weaver. She was preceded in death by her husband Reilly Fluellen and brothers Leslie James, Patrick James, and Larry James. Over the years, Rita owned several businesses such as Najla's Clothing Boutique which she also operated. She enjoyed crafts, oil and water color painting, as well as gardening at her home. Rita and Reilly often took trips to Colorado and New Mexico in the fall. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Brookedale Memorial Oaks and Highland Hospice.
