She was born in Molalla to Joseph V. and Etta Adams Harless, and lived in this area most of her life. She was a member of the Molalla Christian Church, Oak Rebekah Lodge, Orchid Chapter Order of Eastern Star, and Daughters of the Nile. She was city recorder here during World War II.
Surviving are her husband, Norman; a brother, Fenton H. Harless, Molalla; two nieces, Lona Wilson, Modesto, CA, and Joan Bailey, Bend; a nephew, Ronald Harless, Milwaukie; and a number of cousins.
