Jerry graduated from Durant High School and attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He was employed as a fieldman for OG&E for 43 years. He and his wife Peggy Ann (Johnson) Mullens married on December 12, 1963 and shared 53 wonderful years together. Jerry was a member of the Durant Round Up Club and loved his horses, watching sports, and cherished his grandkids as well as spending time with all of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Edith Mullens.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Peggy; daughter Michelle Taylor and husband Monty of Calera, OK; sons Jeff Mullens and wife Tammy of Calera, OK; Jeremy Mullens and wife Cinnamon of Bokchito, OK; six grandchildren McKenzie Taylor of Calera, OK; Stormy Taylor of Calera, OK; Cody Mullens and his wife Jessica of Calera, OK; Logan Mullens of Calera, OK; Cassidy Mullens of Calera, OK; Harlee Mullens of Bokchito, OK; Jake Mullens of Bokchito, OK; brother Randy Mullens and wife LouAnne of Durant, OK; sister Charlotte Clarkson and fiancé Tom Barr; special friend who Jerry thought of as another son Rhett Rogers, along with numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members and many dear friends.
Funeral services for Jerry will be held Monday, July 3, 2017 at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Durant with Pastor Jimmy Parrish officiating. Interment will be in Calera at Rose Hill Cemetery.
