Thanks to FAG member# 47090990 for providing Elizabeth as the middle name.

Mrs. Valine was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, SMSGT James F. "Peanut" Rogers; her parents, Lewis Washington Brown and Lizzie Belle Johnson Brown; eight siblings, Roy Brown, Hattie Lee Roach, Ianthia Story, Lewis Brown, Jr., Raymond Brown, Irene Smith, Paul Brown, and Charlotte Brown; her daughter-in-law, Kay McDowell Rogers; her fiancé, Marseille Boullemet; and her second husband, Ernie Valine.
Left to cherish the memory of "Granny Rogers" are her sons, Stan (Mickey) Rogers of Collinsville and Steve (Rachel) Rogers of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Andrea (Brad) Davis of Opelika, Stuart (Laura) Rogers of Auburn, Thomas (Sonja) Rogers of Columbus, GA, and Philip (Fradreka) Rogers of Anniston; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild on the way; her sister, Logene Shelton of Piedmont; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Valine was a 1948 graduate of Anniston High School and a native of Calhoun County. She was a faithful and devoted Christian, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, and the Joy Group, where she enjoyed singing and fellowshipping with her fellow saints. Mrs. Valine was also a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She became the very first woman President of Fort McClellan Credit Union where she retired after 25 years. She was also President of the Credit Women's Association. One of Mrs. Valine's favorite hobbies was traveling to the beach, which she loved ever so much. If someone entered her home, they could find a full beach mural on one of her walls. She had this painted for her love of the beach and Elvis. Standing in front of it would make you feel like you were in "Blue Hawaii" just listening for the ocean's call. Mrs. Valine was a huge Elvis fan, from music to movies, cardboard cutouts and framed photos, nothing was "too Elvis" for her. She even carried a picture of him in her wallet. Mrs. Valine was a devoted mother, "Granny", and friend, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
