A civic and church leader, Mr. Davis had lived his life in the Fulton and Marsall county area. He was born Dec. 28, 1894, in the Mount Hope neighborhood, the son of Levi and Nancy COWEN DAVIS. His marriage was on Jun 14, 1918, near Rochester, to Fredona RINEHART, who survives.
He was a retired dairy farmer and a thresherman for 35 years before the combine was used. A member of the Mount Hope Methodist church, he had served as Sunday school superintendent for 29 years, and was chairman of the church board of trustees. He served on the Marshall county council two years.
Also surviving are three sons, Donald A. DAVIS, Culver; Eldon P. DAVIS, Culver, and Harold A. DAVIS, of Columbus, O.; three brohers, Norman DAVIS, Argos; Emery and Dale DAVIS, both of Culver; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A daughter, Barbara Ann Davis, preceded in death.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Mount Hope United Methodist church northeast of Leiters Ford. The Rev. Calvin DANIELS will officiate. Burial will be in the Leiters Ford I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the Easterday-Bonine funeral home in Culver after noon on Saturday until 11 a.m. Sunday, and at the church until the time of services.
